I originally came from England and moved to South Australia with my family in August 2012, where the temperature in Winter was what I had left in the UK..
 

In some ways, the move had started long before that. Eighteen years earlier, we had taken a road trip through South Australia with our best friends. Something about the place stayed with us. The landscape, the lifestyle, the warmth of the people and, of course, the wine regions. Years later, when our friends made the move, we followed them out here and began a new chapter of our own.

I have been married to my husband for twenty-eight years, and together we have two children and a much-loved dog called Aussie. Family, friendship and the idea of building a life in a place you come to love are all things that matter deeply to me. They naturally find their way into my writing.

I love wine, socialising, long lunches, exploring South Australia’s wine regions and spending time in places that have a story to tell. The Barossa Valley has always felt like one of those places. There is something about the vines, the old stone buildings, the family histories and the way food and wine bring people together that made it the perfect setting for the Hearts & Vines series.

The idea for Hearts & Vines had been with me for almost ten years before I finally decided to put pen to paper.

For a long time, the characters lived quietly in the back of my mind. I knew there would be vineyards, family farms, food shared around tables, old hurts, complicated love and people trying to find their way back to themselves. I could feel the world of the series before I knew exactly how to write it.
